Flight out to Vietnam

We start the day exploring Hanoi, and first on the list is the Temple of Literature, the site of Vietnam’s first University.  Next stop is Tran Quoc pagoda then have lunch in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Museum of Ethnology or the Women’s Museum then take a cyclo-trip around Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi’s fascinating Old Quarter and experience typical Hanoian life and Vietnamese culture. And to finish off the day we enjoy a Water Puppet Show, followed by a light early dinner at a local restaurant and back to the hotel. This morning at around 09:00hrs we set off for our 3-hour tennis sessions! Back to the hotel to freshen up quickly and we are off to Halong City. An early breakfast today as at 8:00hrs we transfer to the boat dock to board our private boat and cruise around the mesmerising islets and visiting one of the most beautiful caves within this World Heritage Site. And of course, seafood lunch is served on the boat with views of the breath-taking scenery. We are back to the pier at around noon, and we head back to Hanoi. It’s an early breakfast again, as this morning at around 9:00hrs we are ready and eager to hit the courts again for our 3-hour tennis sessions.  We transfer back to the hotel to freshen up quickly and we are on our way to Noi Bai airport for our afternoon flight to Danang. This is an adventure, so a very early breakfast as at 8:00am, we are on our way to visit Son Tra Peninsula and explore the forest located right in the city centre. We visit Linh Ung Pagoda, home to the largest Buddha statue in Vietnam, and enjoy the cool climate as we drive to the top of Hai Van Pass, known as Hai Van Quan, to admire the spectacular views and peaceful atmosphere. And we are off to Lang Co Beach, passing through some beautiful landscapes.  Arrive at Lang Co Beach, it’s time to enjoy some leisure time at one of Vietnam’s most beautiful beaches, followed by a seafood lunch at a local restaurant. We have a little time to relaxing on the beach before we head back to Da Nang. On arrival in Da Nang, we visit the Cham Museum and learn a little about the history and culture of the ancient Champa Kingdom. Next stop on our tour is the Marble Mountains, located on the road between Hoi An and Da Nang, where we explore Buddhism in Vietnam and its influence on Vietnamese thought and demeanour. Today is all about our tennis sessions, drills and skills to enhance our game, and friendly competitiveness! It’s a 09:00hrs start and our morning 3–hours sessions and 2-hours afternoon sessions. Full Moon Festival celebrations are in order, so with get a taste of the culture and customs and enjoy a sumptuous dinner!

This morning, we visit My Son Sanctuary to explore the history and culture of the ancient Champa Kingdom, followed by an Apsara traditional music show. Next stop is the Thanh Ha Ceramic Village to observe how local artisans create pottery. We have the opportunity to try our hand in pottery making, under the guidance of the workshop owner of course. Our reward is a clay whistle called “To He” as a farewell gift before we set off on a boat ride on the Thu Bon River back to Hoi An Ancient Town and enjoy our lunch at a local restaurant.

This afternoon we visit Green Bay Mau Water Coconut Forest, where we can try our skills rowing a basket boat! We explore the Vietnam War revolutionary base and try fishing for field crabs. Next, we cycle through the countryside to Tra Que Vegetable Village, 3 km from Hoi An Ancient Town. We are welcomed with a special drink and get dressed for work – in farming we learn traditional farming methods, including preparing the land and watering vegetables. Next, we enjoy a “foot soak” in Vietnamese herbs before joining a cooking class to prepare Hoi An’s special dishes and have dinner with the family. And after a hard day’s work, we are back to Hoian. A little time to relax and our morning is left at leisure, before we make our way (11:30hrs) to Danang airport for your early afternoon flight to Can Tho. There is no letting up and on arrival in Can Tho, we check-in at the hotel and we get ready to hit the courts for a 2hours session 17:00-19:00) Upon arrival, pick up and transfer to your hotel for check in, and we hit the tennis courts for a 2hours session 17:00-19:00). We did say this is an adventure after all, so at 6:30hrs we are for a boat trip to Cai Rang floating market, cruising on the river and strolling along quiet country roads taking in the magnificent scenery and getting a little bit closer to the locals as they go about their daily routines. We are not missing out on our tennis sessions today! This morning at around 09:00hrs we set off for our 3hours morning tennis sessions, and afternoon sessions (4hours – 16:00-19:00). This morning after breakfast, at 08:00hrs we set off for Ho Chi Mihn visiting the War Remnants Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office and Ben Thanh market.

A farewell meal is arranged before we transfer Tan Son Nhat airport for our evening return flight home.
